Go Around

Slip into my dream, I cannot sleep
I want to wake with you in the morning deep
So I guess i need to find you some where the night before
But I don’t believe I’ve given you a warning.

The moon is a circle with a circle all around it
I’m thinking about a bullet and did I move in front
Was there another target that somebody had wanted
Or shot years ago and just now made its mark?

Sometimes feel like a woman, sometimes feel like a man
I don’t know if it means nothing, I just take it as it stands
There is nothing black and white in here
It’s all clouds of purple gray
Just trying to find the right tide to swim against today

There is space between our bodies
There is space between our souls
The closer that I hold you the less I feel alone

The year is another circle that we’re moved around the sun
Trapped to that cycle of our spinning wild with every one
Sometimes i think that time itself is also purple gray
We dropped in at some point, could have gone another way

Time is a stubborn refugee as it keeps on pushing through
No matter how much you might want to stop or start anew
But memories are not frozen we melt them every time
We think about what’s happened then we keep that one alive

Though there are times I want to grab the past and pull it here to me
It is likely that i wouldn’t be the one I’ve come to be
Like every scar and break and pain leaves a little mark
I can’t be no one else just got to make this one work out

There is space between our bodies
There is space between our souls
The closer that i hold you the less i feel alone
