Raine

So he called her Raine
For her hair was all wet
from the water that came from the sky

He fell fast for her
As they slipped down the steps
From the sparkles that shot from her eyes

And he knew from the moment he saw her
He wanted to spend time with her smile
Enshrined in her thoughts
Entwined in her arms
Holding her tight for a while

And he couldn’t go back
To the room in the North
That he shared with a woman called Thyme
He got away clean
When he picked up his things
Though his fine pocket watch stayed behind

Sometimes you give something for something
Sometimes you give nothing but thought
Times you think you want something different
Sometimes you are right, sometimes not

And he knew from the moment he saw her
He wanted to spend time with her smile
Enshrined in her thoughts
Entwined in her arms
Holding her tight for a while

And he couldn’t go back
To the room in the North
That he shared with a woman called Thyme
He got away clean
When he picked up his things
Though his fine pocket watch stayed behind
