Seeks Companion

Henry Stewart & Michelle Rosenblum

Invisible man seeks companion
He’s looking for somebody’s gaze
Invisible man needs a stallion
He looks to hold on to the stage

Look out at the huddling masses
Nobody hides in the rain
Invisible man can’t help feeling
The blood flowing slow through his veins

We are dead to the children
We are lost to the young
We’ve eaten our last meal we may wink out the sun
Fall to this darkness we have nowhere to run

Put down your books on the cold floor
Put on your torn silken shirt
The only ones come to the front door
Are selling religion or dirt

He’s lain in the sun until the heat is all gone
He’s drunk all the fish in the sea
Now he just watches the others have fun
As his view fades to ashes and weeds

We are dead to the children
We are lost to the young
We’ve eaten our last meal we may wink out the sun
Fall to this darkness we have nowhere to run
