The Way to Avalon

It was today I heard you talking
Your voice was sweet and strong
But I don’t know where I am going
I don’t know where I belong

And I don’t know what I’m feeling
Not sure just what to say
These clouds push all the rain down
When you look the other way

And you tell me to be honest
And you tell me to be strong
These clouds push down from heaven
All the way to Avalon

Put your head upon my shoulder
Close your eyes and fall to sleep
As the rain it pitter patters
At the end of this grey week

I feel humbled I feel naked
I feel the glass in my hand break
I really did not mean to hurt you
Was coming up from a long sleep

And you tell me to be honest
And you tell me to be strong
As I watch the rain come tumble
All the way to Avalon

And the clouds push rain from heaven
And the gray pushed out the blue
As I watch you sleep for hours
My hands in your hands too

Put your head upon my shoulder
Close your eyes and fall to sleep
As the rain it pitter patters
At the end of this grey week
